Innovators in Healthy Stadia
HM Partnerships are a world leading Healthy Stadia Consultancy, supporting governing bodies, sports clubs and stadium across the globe to:
- Develop facilities, policies and practices that support healthier lifestyle choices
- Develop and deliver programmes of action that support staff, fans and local communities
- Develop strong and robust working partnerships with local government, health services, and other key stakeholders
As a founder member of the European Healthy Stadia Network, our approach to the development of healthy stadia recognises the influence of cultural, environmental, economic and social factors on health rather than just individual behaviour.
This is achieved by:
- Understanding the needs and language of sports business
- Securing local public sector partnerships
- Facilitating organisational collaboration (local services, business, community organisations, work with sport clubs) to form a common vision
- Promoting the development of policies that have a positive effect on the health without having a negative impact on business
- Linking stadia/club initiatives to local health priorities
- Monitoring and evaluating impact
We have developed bespoke software – the Healthy Stadia Audit and Action Planning Tool – which has been piloted on a range of sports clubs and stadium across Europe from major stadium to smaller local clubs. The software generates:
- A comprehensive report on current club/stadia activity against health needs
- Analysis of depth and impact of individual topics
- Analysis of partnerships and investment
- Comparison of policy and intervention across a governing body
- Comparison between geographical areas and sports
The software can also generate:
- Individual Stadia/Club Action Plans – allowing the stadia and stakeholders to agree firm deliverables, gather key measurable data and monitors progress
- Action to support the health legacy of major sporting tournaments
- Health Impact Assessments to support new stadium development
We have established a strong operational team that involves not just HM Partnerships core team and specialist Healthy Stadia Associate Mark Haig (currently developing the health programme with Liverpool FC), but also the European Healthy Stadia Network Management team.
